Lyrics
Self-doubt’s a man who’s lived a lie so long,
He blames his wife for all the years gone wrong
She says, “I’m leaving”, and heads towards the door
He grabs her wrist then he throws her to the floor
He says, “I’ll be damned if you think that you can walk away from this never ending pain.”
He takes another drink, an attempt to avoid his shame.
“With love, I call upon the Lord our God above to help me find a way to live another day. Fill my heart with peace and joy for all to see. Give me strength to seek the life I’m meant to lead.”
Grief’s a woman receptive to abuse,
And never knowing what it’s like to choose
He says, “I’m sorry, I won’t hurt you again.”
She knows he will, but she can’t say “No” to him
She says, “I will stay. I know that I can’t walk away from this never ending pain.”
She hangs her head to cry, and all the while she wonders “why?”
“With love, I call upon the Lord our God above to help me find a way to live another day. Fill my heart with peace and joy for all to see. Give me strength to seek the life I’m meant to lead.”
“With love, I call upon the Lord our God above to help me find a way to live another day. Fill my heart with peace and joy for all to see. Give me strength to seek the life I’m meant to lead.”
